The Philippines in Figures (PIF) 2005, a publication of the National Statistics Office, is now off the press. This handy pocket-sized publication is ideal for everyone, as it showcases our country’s key economic and social statistics. It capsulated data from a range of topics like income and prices, domestic and foreign trade, business and industry, agriculture, forestry and fishery, energy, public finance, labor, and banking and insurance. It also presents the country’s brief historical background, constitution and government.

Aside from various statistics presented, the booklet also features international statistics and a list of the number of provinces, cities, municipalities and barangays in the Philippines. It also assures data dependability as it contains the most updated figures needed. Moreover, it is presented in three-year columns for easy data comparison.

The PIF is available at the Databank and Information Services Division located at 2/F Soledad Bldg., Ramon Magsaysay Blvd., Sta. Mesa, Manila and at the NSO regional and provincial offices. It is also downloadable from the NSO website, http://www.census.gov.ph.
