Some 1,000 solemnizing officers, local civil registrars, members of the judiciary, and other local and national officials are expected to gather for the 4th National Convention of Solemnizing Officers (4NCSO) on August 9-11, 2005 at the Bacolod Convention Plaza Hotel in Bacolod City.

With the theme, "Pangalan ko, Karapatan ko," the three-day biennial conference spearheaded by NSO Administrator and Civil Registrar General Carmelita N. Ericta will serve as a forum for exchange of ideas and sharing of experiences about the implementation of marriage laws and registration of marriages.

Specifically, the event will be dealing with relevant topics such as new procedures in the registration of the authority of solemnizing officers; marriage registration procedures of indigenous peoples and Muslim Filipinos; and registration issues and concerns, among others.
